Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase 2
After stabilization from heart surgery, a heart attack,
or other heart treatment, you are eligible, with your physician's
approval, to join our outpatient Cardiac Rehab program.
When you join our program, an Exercise Physiologist develops
a custom fitness program based on your individual condition.
You will be monitored by continuous electrocardiogram (ECG)
telemetry for you and your heart's safety as you continue
to build strength and stamina and recondition your heart.
In Phase 2, your monitored exercise routine in the Cardiac
Rehabilitation unit will be under the direct supervision of
a Registered Nurse and Exercise Physiologist. Our facility
offers a full range of exercise options and equipment, including
treadmills, Schwinn Airdynes, Monark arm and leg ergometers,
stationary bikes, wall pulleys and therabands.
Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase 3
Maintaining your health remains important after completing
Phase 2. Our Phase 3 program allows you to continue a state
of wellness through heart healthy practices. You will continue
to:
• Exercise as prescribed.
•
Continue learning about heart disease.
•
Continue learning optional dietary habits.
•
Continue to attain ideal body weight.
•
Abstain from smoking, if applicable.
•
Control diabetes, if applicable.
•
Follow-up with your physician as advised.
Phase 3 Cardiac Rehabilitation offers exercise supervised
by a Registered Nurse and an Exercise Physiologist. This program
is also good for those who have not yet experienced a heart
condition but are at risk for heart disease.
Who is Eligible?
The program is for persons who have suffered angina
attacks or those recovering from a heart attack, bypass surgery,
angioplasty, or any other condition which your physician feels
could improve with an exercise program. Your entrance into
the Cardiac Rehab program requires your physician's approval.
Cost?
Almost all medical insurance companies and Medicare
cover the cost of those eligible for Phase 2 Cardiac Rehabilitation.
Most medical insurance companies will not cover Phase 3. However,
this program is offered for a minimal fee. Please remember
you will not be denied care based on your ability to pay.
