Grant Memorial Hospital Hires New CEO
Grant Memorial Hospital, a critical access hospital, announces that a new chief executive officer will join the organization in late August. The Grant Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees unanimously voted to hire Robert W. Milvet of Morgantown, WV as the next chief executive officer following two rounds of interviews with numerous candidates under the direction of a national recruiting firm.
Mr. Milvet will be responsible and accountable for managing all administrative and health care activities for the hospital. As chief executive officer, he will provide overall leadership and direction for all professional, administrative, technical and clerical employees, ensuring the delivery of quality health care and supporting ongoing improvement efforts. He will also work closely with and collaborate with other organizations to maintain open communication and meet the needs of the local community.
“Grant Memorial Hospital is extremely fortunate to attract and employ a person with Mr. Milvet’s credentials, and we look forward to welcoming him into the community and as a part of our GMH team,” said Tammy Kesner, chair of the board of trustees.
Milvet is a strategic and data-driven leader with 22 years of healthcare experience in finance, administration, and operations. He brings a track record of partnering with stakeholders and maintaining open lines of communication in pursuit of shared organizational goals. Most recently, he was the vice president of physician services and new business development with Mon Health where he engaged in strategic growth initiatives, and enjoyed problem solving, teambuilding, leadership development, and staff mentoring. Milvet has experience in critical access hospital operations from his employment as vice president and chief financial officer at Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, WV prior to their merger with Mon Health.
Milvet holds a bachelor of science in business administration in accounting from West Virginia University and is a certified public accountant. As a community leader and volunteer, he understands the needs and challenges for families throughout the state.
“It is a true honor to have been selected as the new Chief Executive Officer. Grant Memorial Hospital has a history of providing high quality, excellent health care to its community and region. I am looking forward to joining this great team of loyal employees, well respected members of the medical staff, and a truly committed Board of Trustees at the hospital. And, most importantly, I look forward to calling Grant County home,” Milvet stated.
